Hi everyone,
Do you ever have those times when
you feel you're skipping from one project to another and nothing is complete,
everything is kinda up in the air, waiting on either materials, money, or just
plain old motivation.
It's a bit like that around here in
my piece of paradise at the moment. I have the bedroom half done - well let's
be honest, about 1/3 done, my daughter's bedroom is 90% done, the hallway
gallery art wall is 50% done - the wall's been repainted, that's a start isn't
it?
So I seem to be chopping form one
project to another, nothing is finished, and it's really frustrating.
However some good news.

have found curtain fabric for the bedroom

I will be cornering The Hubby this weekend to help me make the bedhead -
need to get that sized right before I order the fabric.
Another project that I've been working on and which has been reasonably successful - it was a bit of the blind leading the blind kinda project. Okay, i'll admit that I started playing around, pulling stuff off the shelves and I created chaos!!! You're right, I didn't really know what I was doing.

I wanted to back my white bookcase with either fabric or paper - I didn't want all
the hassle of painting it as I would need to have taped it etc. Just call me lazy. Plus I wanted to use what I had on
hand - you know, penny pinching!!
Scrapbooking paper to the rescue.
My office doesn't get a lot of
sunlight and so I wanted to make it a bit more cheery, plus to be honest it was
OVER TIME to clean it up and toss out a bunch - this is in my quest to get
organized. More on that later as I may
do a day a week post on organizing around the home.
I used basic scrapbooking paper - 12x12
inch in size. It took 2 1/2 sheets, but
(again lazy me) I decided not to cut it, but to just bend at the base and
slightly overlap where required.
I used double sided tape on three
sides of the paper - it stuck pretty quickly/easily so I had to make sure I had
it lined up just as I wanted it, because there wasn't really much opportunity
for a second chance.
I used purple, pink and soft
lavender papers and I think it looks quite pretty, especially with a few
accessories like the old children's sewing machine I had as a child. Quite nostalgic.
There's a wedding photo though it needs to be reframed but hey -
as my motto says - it doesn't have to be perfect, you just have to enjoy it.
So that's the second project of this
office - the first you can read about yesterday about my heart wall.
